Ethiopia Arsosala Single Farmer Project Mr. Ocholo Bedecho
$ 21.00
It’s the start of Ethiopia season for most of us in the west and I have to tell you…I.AM.GIDDY.
Ethiopia continues to have a special place in our hearts when it comes to specialty coffee. Arabica coffee traces its origins to Ethiopia along with having flavor profiles you cannot find anywhere else in the world. The florals, fruits, and finishes in Ethiopian coffee are as varied as they are delicious, none more than this Single-Farmer Project Arsosala by Mr. Ocholo Bedecho.
The Single-Farmer Project was created in partnership with our friends at Café Imports and is the result of an effort to support Ethiopian producers with a marketplace for farm-traceable coffees. This is unique in the Ethiopia coffee system as most lots are blended together to maintain regional consistency. The hope is that through farm-traceable lots and long-term relationships with importers and roasters, farmers that are producing exceptional lots can be elevated and emulated as examples of best practices in the specialty coffee industry.
This particular lot is a stunning example of quality with its stone-fruit and cherry notes, along with some lavender and jasmine florals which make the overall experience that much more delightful while drinking.
Mr. Ocholo Bedecho owns 8 hectares of coffee land in Oromia Regional State Guji Zone, Urga district. This is one of the largest lands in size by the standards of the district he lives His farm is located 12 km from small town called Haro Wachu. Most of his income comes from his coffee farm although he also processes some vegetables and Enset (false banana) for daily food from his back yard/garden.
Enjoy!
